I am 29 years old and live in South West London, with my mate Jim Davies who is a radio presenter for LBC. My Dad's called John and works in property and my Mum is called Joy (Rita to her mates - long story) and is a barrister; they live in Northampton with Kiri the wild Alsatian and Polly the balding cat. I have one brother - Sam, who presents the breakfast show on Heart 106.2. He lives in Nottingham with his wife Kathryn who works as a child trauma therapist. They are all lovely, but I am bound to say that.
I'm currently hosting Channel 4's Adrenalin Rush - an energy charged adventure racing sports show - along with Feelgood Friday every week on Heart 106.2fm.
I recently took part in ITV's Dancing On Ice. 3 months of training before the show went live; it was quite an experience. I loved every minute of it. I learnt to skate, got to wear saucy little sequin numbers and made some friends for life. Great combo.
Last summer I had a great time living out in the States hosting the US version of David Beckham's Soccer USA and reporting back for Tim Lovejoy and his Channel 5 version of the show. It was a fantastic. We covered every element of the league, hoping to show the world how much Major League Soccer has developed since its inception in 1996. There really is such a buzz about soccer in America right now, and Beckham has succeeded in bringing the world's attention to it. There is more on DBSUSA in the football section of this site; and for more info on the league, and to see all 13 shows from the US/World format of the show go to www.mlsnet.com
Last year I loved presenting the Extreme Sports Channel's coverage of the European Beach Soccer League. I'm struggling to think of a better way to spend the months of July and August than travelling around Europe watching the spectacular game of beach soccer. There are stacks of goals, flash tricks, and dancing girls, oh and the odd footy icon - namely Monsieur Cantona.
I love all sports, but particularly football, rugby, tennis, and athletics. During the 2006 FIFA World Cup, I co-hosted ITV4's World Cuppa with Virgin Radio's hilarious front man Christian O'Connell and Five Live's footy guru Steve Bunce; and also presented an Internet World Cup show for www.nobok.com which involved gleaning the views of some of the legends of the beautiful game like the daddy of all football manager's Sir Bobby Robson, on the tournament as a whole.
I am mad about poker. My first real experience of live telly was on The Poker Channel about two years ago where I hosted the British Poker Open, the World Cup of Poker, and a 'How to Play Poker' DVD for Virgin Games. Last year was my second series of the European Poker Tour which I presented alongside the lovely Colin Murray and the multi-talented John Duthie. I also penned interviews with some of the world's top poker pros - well the nicest ones - which you can find in the poker section of this site.
In recent years I've hosted the TT races for Men and Motors; now if you've never been to the Isle of Man during TT week - you've got to go! It's like nothing I've ever experienced. I rode pillion with my co-presenter Mike Brewer, top speeding at 120 mph on the infamous Mountain Circuit. 2007 was the Centenary year, a real milestone for the race.
I've also reported from the Masters Tennis Series for Sky Sports, fronted Chelsea's Blues News and reported for Five on the British 10k run.
I love live audience events, having hosted the International Rugby Awards, the SALSA fashion show, GOAL's Aura of Asia fund-raising event, and the Access Sport annual fundraiser.
I read Politics at Nottingham University - so my other passion is current affairs along with domestic and world politics; and when I get to combine the two - sport and politics - I'm in my element! I therefore relish my work as a trustee for kids sports initiative Access Sport, which facilitates grass roots participation in all sports, and in doing so tackles pressing social issues such as obesity and youth crime.
The other charities I am a supporter of are KidsAid, SPARKS, and Grassroot Soccer. More on these fantastic fund-raising initiatives can be found in the charity and football sections of this site.
