Action packed adventure racing
Adrenalin Rush is the adventure racing show that I present for Channel 4. Adventure racing is a combination of two or more disciplines, including orienteering and navigation, cross country running, mountain biking, paddling and climbing. For full details see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventure_racing.
Most of the people who take part are close to crazy as they often go for days on very little sleep, with just high energy snacks to get them through often torturous physical activity.
The show is produced by the hugely talented guys at Dream Team Television; who aren't dissimilar to the competitors, in that they are like little energiser bunnies; they never seem to require sleep, or even breaks in filming. Food on the other hand - they always want.
We have a great time travelling all over the world with the series, and seeing all the mad things people just like you and me (well OK not just like us) are prepared to do for 'fun'.
We kicked off filming the new series up in Scotland at the end of April with the Drambuie Pursuit www.drambuiepursuit.com it involved corporate teams doing all sorts of mental and physical challenges - not least to drink copious amounts of Drambuie at the end of the race. I'll keep you updated throughout the series; after all with these mad men and women (all entirely fearless) there are bound to be a few stories.
